Microsoft Cut Off XBox Price By 20%

Microsoft has cut off Xbox 360 console in Europe up to 20 percent. This step was done in order to raise the amount of selling of XBox games and to attract more gamer to use XBox console.

The basic version which has 20GB hard drive and wireless controller, Microsoft gave 20% discount price from US$500 to US$400. While for the Elite version which has 120GB hard drive, the price dropped 13% from US$600 to US$520. Not just that, Microsoft also cut off the price of XBox Arcade Console from US$400 to US$360.

From their statement, Microsoft said that the price cut-off will help boosting the XBox sales in Europe. Discounted prices will also lift the popularity of Grand Theft Auto IV and Rock Band games which will be launched shortly.

At this time, the seventh generation of video game console war between Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo is getting hotter. Each participant is showing off their favorite console.

If we look from sales department in last January, Wii is still on the top spot of the video game console war, with around 274,000 sales. Following Wii on the second spot is Sony Playstation 3 with 251,000 unit sales, and XBox 360 with 230,000 units. This data is according to NPD market research.
