Microsoft Stop The Selling of Windows XP

June 30th, 2008 Posted in Story, Windows

This is a really bad news for me as an XP fan. Microsoft will stop the selling of operation system from retails and big computer producers from today. This step is taken by Microsoft in the middle of huge protest waves from PC users that don’t want to change to XP successor, Windows Vista.

Windows XP based computers are not available anymore in the PC producers stocks such as Dell and Hewlett-Packard. For die-hard XP user who wants to use XP in a new computer, has to buy Windows Vista Ultimate or Vista Business first, then legally downgraded it to XP.

However, Microsoft still allows small PC outlets to buy Windows XP and resell it until the end of January 2009. Windows XP is also available for cheap PC or laptops such as Asus .

A group of consumers who made a petition called “Save XP” is asking Microsoft to sell XP at least until the next operation system, which is called Windows 7 is available.
