Sold 10 million Units, XBox Beats Wii
The sales of game console by Microsoft, Xbox360, have gone over 10 million units in United States alone.
Quoted from InformationWeek, the new Xbox 360 have reached that much sales in USA. XBox beats its number one competitor Nintendo Wii which sells only 8.8million units in USA followed by Playstation 3, with 4.1million sales. In the whole world, Microsoft stated that they have sold more than 19 million units XBox.
Don Matrick, Senior Vice President Microsoft’s entertainment division said that in history, the first game console that is recorded to have 10milllions sales will win the competition. However although Xbox is quite successful in USA, Nintendo Wii is proven to be more popular in some places thus competition is still burning.
Xbox sales is pushed by the new released of “Grand Theft Auto IV’ video game last April. In the first week, this game made for Xbox console and Playstation 3 is sold up to six million copies in the whole world.
